Research

My research includes investigating a novel class of plasmonic gratings for localizing light down to highly sub-wavelength scales. This is particularly useful in the infrared part of the spectrum for infrared energy harvest, detection of chemical and molecular signatures, bio-imaging, opto-electronics, etc. My work here involves the integration of infrared light-trapping structures with energy storage systems such as supercapacitors.
